General Truck Sales was first opened by Andy Bell and Bill Male after acquiring a GMC franchise, on Watts Street in Charleston WV in 1937, to service the coal and the logging industry.
We soon built a reputation based on excellent customer service.
In 1970, General Truck Sales moves to its current location in the South Charleston Ordinance Center. Between 1970 and 1992, Raymond Meadows was hired as General Manager. Raymond continued the tradition of sales and service, while acquiring ownership of General Truck Sales. The Isuzu and Volvo franchises were obtained during this time.
In 1993, Charles H. "Chuck" Haden III and O.D. "Bud" Bush purchased General Truck Sales from the estate of Ray Meadows, continuing the tradition of sales and service.
